| Further information: | BIF is a full-time 2-year master''s program. Studies begin in September and there is no mid-point entry to the program. The degree gives the students the possibility to apply for doctoral studies for example in the doctoral program of the Graduate School of Finance (http://gsf.aalto.fi/), or after completing some advanced level courses in economics outside the curriculum of BIF program, also in the Finnish Doctoral Program in Economics (http://www.fdpe.fi). |

Finnish students, who have not completed the statutory Finnish and/or Swedish courses in their previous degree, e.g. degrees completed abroad, are required to take the following supplementary language courses:

• 2 ECTS Äidinkielen kirjoitusviestintä
• 3 ECTS Svenska för ekonomer, skriftlig + muntlig (2+1 ECTS).
For foreign students without any prior studies in Finnish language:

Minor studies, 31 op
- Depending on the individual background, the compulsory minor studies may consist from a variety of choices. For example, students who have not completed any business studies in their previous degree may take the Basic Business Studies module (28 ECTS). Alternatively, the minor (min. 31 ECTS) can be chosen freely from a set of studies on for example statistics, mathematics, information technology or social sciences. However, all graduates in BIF should have basic knowledge either in economics, finance or accounting studies after completing the degree, and hence, the choices regarding the minor studies might also be focused on completing the possibly missing studies in these subject areas. Therefore those students, who have previously completed neither economics nor finance/accounting studies, will be required to choose one compulsory minor and supplementary courses from some study module of these subjects. Especially for them the required supplementary courses will be negotiated with the PSP supervisor.
